First edition in Chile: Fjällräven Classic in Southern Patagonia

Chile’s Patagonia, with its vastness and untamed beauty, never ceases to amaze. Beyond the iconic Torres del Paine, this region is home to countless alternative trails that offer a unique connection to nature. Among these, the trails offered by Pingo Salvaje stand out for their authenticity and charm. Now, we are thrilled to introduce a new addition to the trekking map of Patagonia: the Fjällräven Classic Chile, which took place from December 2nd to 6th.

An exclusive adventure in Southern Patagonia

For the first time, the prestigious Fjällräven Classic ventured into the Southern Hemisphere, choosing none other than the heart of Chilean Patagonia for its debut. This trek, far from a traditional race, offered an immersive experience covering 73 kilometers of pure adventure. With over 2,665 meters of accumulated elevation gain, the private route designed exclusively for the event led participants through wild forests, rugged mountains, and glacial landscapes that seem plucked from a dream.

The Fjällräven Classic isn’t about competition—it’s about connection. Without timers or rankings, participants were encouraged to walk at their own pace, alongside 400 adventurers from around the globe. The goal? To build experience, confidence, and self-reliance while surrounded by Patagonia’s breathtaking wilderness.

A journey of discovery

The Fjällräven Classic Chile is more than just a trail. It’s an opportunity to grow as a nature enthusiast. Participants slept under the stars, cooked their own meals, and learned how to minimize their environmental impact. They were also supported by an exceptional team: experienced guides, flora and fauna experts, photographers, and influencers who shared the magic of Patagonia.

This international event, which has already captivated trekkers in destinations like Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Korea, made its mark in Chile by unveiling a unique route that promises to inspire those seeking adventures beyond the beaten path.

Discover beyond Torres del Paine

At Pingo Salvaje, we firmly believe that Patagonia has so much more to offer than its most well-known trails. Our trekking routes in Puerto Natales invite you to explore awe-inspiring landscapes and forge a deep connection with nature.

Cuevas Sofía Trek: Perfect for families, this 5-kilometer trail takes about 2.5 hours and features a gentle climb with breathtaking views of the ancient Laguna Sofía paleolake and the Cordón Prat range. You’ll also get to explore Cave 4, once home to the Patagonian panther during the Pleistocene.

Forest Bathing Trek: A one-of-a-kind experience that immerses you in nature along a 13-kilometer trail that takes about 5 hours. Walk through lush forests, breathe in the crisp, pure air, and let the majestic trees envelop you in their serenity.

Cerro Mocho Trek: A full-day trek covering 18 kilometers in about 8 hours, offering a 360° view from the summit. From there, you can see the ocean, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine National Park, and the Ventana and Campana mountains. The trail offers a mix of steep and flat sections, always accompanied by stunning ocean views.

These trails, together with the newly introduced Fjällräven Classic Chile, expand the possibilities for those seeking paths less traveled.

Patagonia warmly welcomed hundreds of adventurers from December 2nd to 6th. Now it’s your turn to explore our alternative routes and experience a profound connection with nature. Adventure awaits!
